The law

What the law says, country by country

An undisclosed commission is not a grey area in most of the countries where yachts are run, chartered and supplied. Start with how jurisdiction works, then read the country that matters to you.

Being checked by counsel

We will not publish a summary of the law until a lawyer qualified in that country has checked it. Each country appears here as soon as it is cleared.

We are not lawyers. These pages explain principles in plain English and cite the provisions so that your own adviser can check them quickly. Laws change and facts differ: take advice before you act. If you need an introduction to a lawyer, ask us privately.
