Use the guidance, ask your manager for a written policy, and tell us what you are being asked to do so we can help you decide what to do next.
Brokers and brokerages
Adopt the disclosure template, publish your policy, and ask your suppliers the questions in our checklist.
Management companies
Give captains a reporting channel they trust, audit APA spend, and require supplier declarations.
Owners and guests
Ask for itemised spend and for the list of everyone being paid on your charter. Our owner's letter does it for you.
Suppliers
Say publicly that you pay nothing for orders, and sign the pledge. Honest suppliers win when everyone is asked the same question.

The TransparentSea Pledge
- We will never ask for, accept or offer a payment, gift or benefit connected with an order unless the person whose money is spent has been told and has agreed.
- We will pass on to the client every discount, rebate or incentive a supplier offers on their order.
- We will keep records an owner, a manager or an auditor could read at any time without an awkward conversation.
- We will decline an approach to take part in a hidden arrangement, and report it through a proper channel.
- We will never punish anyone for raising a concern in good faith.
